Tonight, the third edition of Pan-ArcticVision takes place with ten artists from nine countries and regions competing in Iqaluit.
Pan-ArcticVision 2025 takes place today, live from Iqaluit, Nunavut, with artists from across the Arctic competing. The final comes live from the Cadet Hall and is being broadcast online via YouTube and in Canada through Uvagut TV.
Pan-ArcticVision is loosely based on the Eurovision Song Contest and was first held in 2023. The contest aims to bring together the peoples of the Arctic. Three categories are awarded prizes in the competition:
- The most Arctic song
- The song that gives the most feeling of community and togetherness
- The most revolutionary song
The participating artists have been selected by cultural organisations in the respective regions as well as through an open call for entries. This year’s competition sees the debut of Yakutia in the competition The artists competing tonight are:
- Alaska – Quinn Christopherson
- Faroe Islands – Dóttir
- Greenland – Kimmernaq Kjeldsen & HH
- Iceland – Geðbrigði
- Northern Norway/Sápmi – Linus Johnsen
- Northern Sweden/Sápmi – NTÏV
- Nunavut – Shauna Seeteenak
- Pohjois-Suomi – Yungmiqu
- Yakutia – Saina
Laakkuluk Williamson Bathory will host the show live from Iqaluit. They are a performance artists, poet, actor, storyteller and writer who is based in Nunavut. She is an award-winning performer who incorporates her Inuk ancestry into her work and is well known for her activism across a variety of topics.
