It has been reported that Austria are to use an internal selection for their participant in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine.

ESCToday.com reports that ORF will use an internal selection to decide their entrant for the 62nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. ORF has not publicly confirmed that they are selecting their entrant internally. Austria last used an internal selection in 2014 when Conchita Wurst was selected with the song “Rise Like A Phoenix”, Conchita went on to bring the country victory in Copenhagen.

Austria is the second country this year that has been stated as using an internal selection for next years Eurovision Song Contest. France is the only other country to state publicly that they are using an internal selection process. When ORF internally selected Conchita, the announcement of her participation came at the start of September, followed by a further announcement that the song would be internally selected in October.

    1. Yikes, no! I was hoping for ZOË to “pull a Valentina/Jedward” (in other words, participate at Eurovision for at least two years in a row) or for Natália Kelly to return after 2013 in Malmö! 🙁
