ERT has confirmed that it intends to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 in Bulgaria next May.
The Greek public broadcaster ERT has confirmed to ESC Spot that they will compete in the Eurovision Song Contest 2027. Konstantinos Tsolakis, the acting director of corporate communications at ERT, confirmed to the outlet that ERT will also stick to using Sing for Greece to select the nation’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest.
Sing for Greece has seen interest in the Eurovision Song Contest grow and returned the decision of the Greek representative back to the public. Having first been held in 2025, the selection has brought strong results for Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Akylas represented Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with “Ferto”. He placed 10th in the final with 220 points. Greece received 12 points from the juries in Cyprus and Serbia, and from the public in Bulgaria, Cyprus and San Marino.

Greece debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 when they were represented by Marinella and the song “Krasi, thalassa kai t’agori mou” which finished in 11th place with 7 points. Three years later Greece earned their first top 5 finish with Paschalis, Marianna, Robert, and Bessy who finished in 5th place with “Mathima solfege”. In 2001, Greece achieved their first top 3 placing with Antique and the song “I Would Die For You”. The song became a European hit and charted across the continent. In 2005, Helena Paparizou returned to the Eurovision stage as a solo artist and brought Greece their first, and to date only, victory. Her song “My Number One” won with 230 points, beating runners-up Malta by 38 points.
