Viewer interest in the Eurovision Song Contest, halved in Estonia as the country failed to qualify for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. Kantar Emor reports that an average of 113,000 viewers followed the final of the 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest live from Vienna, Austria, making it the fourth most-watched show of the week. During the show, 236,000 viewers watched the contest with a reach of 21.5%.

Semi-Final One, in which Vanilla Ninja competed for a place in the final, had an average audience of 159,000 viewers, reaching 268,000 viewers, the largest reach of any show on Estonian television on the week of the competition. Semi-Final Two was followed by an average of 86,000 viewers, with a reach of 178,000 viewers. It is important to note that previously reported figures by ERR include ETV2 and ETV+, which in 2025 formed an audience of just over 25,000 viewers.

Vanilla Ninja represented Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with “Too Epic to Be True”, placing 11th in Semi-Final One with 79 points. This included 12 points from the televote in Finland.

Estonia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 alongside six other countries. At the contest in Dublin, they were represented by Silvi Vrait, who finished second last, scoring just 2 points. In 2001, Estonia won the Eurovision Song Contest for the only time to date. They were represented by Tanel Padar, Dave Benton & 2XL, who performed the song “Everybody” and took a surprise victory in Copenhagen. After the success of the late-90s and early 00s, Estonia failed to qualify for the final from 2004-2008. In 2009, Estonia launched a new selection show, Eesti Laul, and has since qualified for the final on 11 out of 16 attempts.
