The Swiss German language broadcaster SRF has reported its viewing figures for the 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria.

SRF has reported its viewing audience for the three live shows of the Eurovision Song Contest. Viewing audiences peaked for the Grand Final with an average of 273,000 viewers following the contest live on SRF 1 from Vienna with an audience share of 31.8%. The figures are down 607,000 viewers compared to the 2025 final, which Switzerland hosted, and are likely the lowest since Switzerland last failed to qualify for the final in 2018, when 234,000 viewers watched the show.

The viewing audience across the three live shows were:

  • Semi-Final One – 163,000 viewers – 19.4% share
  • Semi-Final Two – 269,000 viewers – 29.7% share
  • Grand Final – 273,000 viewers – 31.8% share

Veronica Fusaro represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with “Alice”, but failed to qualify for the final. She narrowly missed out in a place in the final having placed 10th with both the public and the jury, but was 14 points away from a place in the final.

Switzerland hosted the first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956 in Lugano, a contest that they also won. Lys Assia won the first contest with the song “Refrain”. It wasn’t until 1988 that Switzerland would win the contest again. Celine Dion won with “Ne partez pas sans moi” in Dublin. She beat the United Kingdom to victory by just 1 point. Switzerland won for a third time in 2024, represented by Nemo with “The Code”.
