The third artist in our Who Is series for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 is Satoshi from Moldova.

Vlad Sabajuc, better known as Satoshi, was born on September 13 1998 in Cahul in southern Moldova. He began composing music while in school and taught himself to play the drums. He later went on to study at the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts in Chișinău.

Sabajuc began performing as Satoshi in 2019. He released his debut single “Cad în sus” in 2020. After releasing his debut album “Rush” in 2022, he has released three more albums, most recently “Minim Efort” last year. His 2023 single “Noaptea pe la 3”, a collaboration with Carla’s Dreams, was his first single to chart in Moldova.

Satoshi was selected to represent Moldova at Eurovision 2026 after winning Finala națională 2026. He won the Moldovan and international jury votes, and the public vote.

The song that Satoshi will perform in Vienna is called “Viva, Moldova!” (Long live Moldova). It was written and composed by Satoshi himself. One of Satoshi’s backing singers is Aliona Moon, who represented Moldova in Eurovision 2013.

Satoshi will perform in the first half of the first semi-final on May 12.

Moldova debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 when the contest was held in Kyiv. Moldova’s best result in the contest is 3rd place in 2017 for Sunstroke Project with “Hey Mamma!”. This was the second time the group had represented their country in Eurovision. Moldova has been represented by several artists who have competed in the contest before, with five acts having represented Moldova a combined eleven times. After a one-year hiatus in 2025, Moldova has come back to the competition in 2026.
