🇷🇸 Serbia: Lavina – “The best accomplishment we could have achieved was having non-metal listeners like our song”

Ahead of Pesma za Evroviziju 2026, we had the opportunity to speak with Lavina, one of the twenty-four participants in Serbia’s national selection.

During our conversation with Luka, the band’s frontman, we discussed the story behind their name, the double meaning of their PZE entry “Kraj mene,” the growing interest in metal music on the local scene, and their ambition to present a different side of Serbia to the Eurovision audience.

Pesma za Evroviziju 2026 will take place on February 24, 26 and 28. Twelve contestants will perform in each semi-final, and the top seven from both semi-finals will advance to the grand final. The winner will be chosen by a 50/50 vote between the public and a professional jury, and will represent Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna.

Serbia was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 by Princ with the song “Mila.” He finished 14th in the second semi-final, scoring 28 points, including 12 points from the Montenegrin public. This marked the first time since 2017 that Serbia failed to qualify for the Eurovision Grand Final.
