SVT has confirmed that they will be participating in the 21st edition of Eurovision Young Musicians in Norway.
A seventh country has confirmed that they will be participating in Eurovision Young Musicians 2024 in Bodø. SVT has confirmed to Eurofestivales that they will be participating in the contest in Norway next August.
The broadcaster has not announced the method for selecting the entry, but the national festival Polstjärnepriset is expected to be involved again.
Sweden has competed in Eurovision Young Musicians a total of fourteen times and made it through to the final on five occasions. The nation’s best result came in 2006 when Andreas Brantelid won in Vienna.
At the 2022 contest in Montpellier, Sweden was represented by trombonist Lukas Flink.
Eurovision Young Musicians 2024
Eurovision Young Musicians 2024 will be held in the city of Bodø. Bodø which will be the European Capital of Culture is playing host to a Eurovision event for the first time, while Young Musicians returns to Norway for the first time since 2000.
The twenty-first edition of the contest will be held on August 17. To date, seven countries have confirmed their participation in the contest:

- Czechia – CT
- France – France Télévisions
- Germany – WDR
- Norway – NRK
- Slovenia – RTVSLO
- Sweden – SVT
The competition for musicians between the ages of 12 and 21 and has been held since 1982, as the first spin-off contest of the Eurovision Song Contest. The event celebrated its twentieth edition in 2022 when Montpellier, France hosted the competition.
Over the twenty editions of the competition, a total of forty-two countries have competed across the history of the competition. Norway has competed in nineteen out of the twenty contests, tied with Austria. Austria is the most successful country having won 5 editions and competed in 15 finals.
