The final of Sanremo Giovani 2023 was held tonight with three artists qualifying for Festival di Sanremo 2024.
Following applications from over 1,200 young performers, the final twelve performed this evening at the Sanremo Casino in the final of Sanremo Giovani 2023. A combination of the musical commission (50%) and voting from Amadeus, the Artistic Director of Festival di Sanremo (50%), decided which three artists would advance to Festival di Sanremo 2024.
The results were (qualifiers in bold):

- Clara – “Boulevard”
- Grenbaud – “Mama” (Mum)
- Jacopo Sol – “Cose che non sai” (Things you don’t know)
- Lor3n – “Fiore d’inverno” (Winter flower)
- Santi Francesi – “Occhi tristi” (Sad eyes)
- Tancredi – “Perle” (Pearls)
- Vale – “Stronza” (Bitch)
- Dipinto – “Criminali” (Criminals)
- Fellow – “Alieno” (Alien)
- Nausica – “Favole” (Fairy tales)
- Omini – “Mare Forza 9oi” (Sea, come to us)
The three qualifiers will compete in Festival di Sanremo 2024 with different songs than what they performed tonight. They will compete alongside the 27 other Big Artists in the festival.
Festival di Sanremo 2024 will be held from February 6 to 10. Earlier this week the co-hosts for each night of Festival di Sanremo 2024 were announced:
- Tuesday February 6 – Marco Mengoni
- Wednesday February 7 – Giorgia
- Thursday February 8 – Teresa Mannino
- Friday February 9 – Lorella Cuccarini
- Saturday February 10 – Fiorello
The way in which the winner of the Festival di Sanremo 2024 is chosen remains the same as in recent years. The winner of the Festival di Sanremo 2024 will be given the chance to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö.
Marco Mengoni represented Italy for the first time in 2013, two years after the country’s return to the Eurovision Song Contest, with the song “L’essenziale”, obtaining 7th place. Italy was represented again by him at Eurovision 2023 with his song “Due Vite”, which finished in 4th place with 350 points. Italy received 12 points from the juries of San Marino, Austria, Croatia, Romania and Slovenia, with 12 points from the public in Albania and Malta.

Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest
Italy debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1956 and has participated a total of 42 times to date. Italy returned to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 having last participated in the contest in 1997, the country has withdrawn from the contest on a number of occasions in the past. Italy has won the contest three times, the first time being in 1964 and the latest being in 2021. Italy’s hosting of the contest in 1991 has been remembered as one of the most chaotic contests to date. Since their return in 2011 Italy has finished in the top 10 on ten occasions.
