🇦🇹 Austria: LUM!X ft. Pia Maria Performs “Halo” Live For The First Time

Austrian representatives, LUMIX and Pia Maria, have performed their song “Halo” for the first time in Tel Aviv.

This evening, during Israel Calling, LUM!X and Pia Maria gave their first live performance of “Halo”. The song was released four weeks ago on the official Eurovision channel. Following that, the song was played on several radio shows. The performance can be watched here from 2 minutes in.

LUMIX and Pia Maria will perform 13th in the first semi-final in Turin on the 10th of May.

Who are LUM!X and Pia Maria?

Luca Michlmayr, also known as LUM!X, was born on 23rd July 2002 in Rohrbach-Berg, Austria. Interested in music from an early age, LUM!X learnt how to play the guitar, and soon his attention turned to dance music. He has produced numerous singles since his debut in 2017, including “Monster” with Gabry Ponte, which topped charts and won several awards.

Pia Maria was born on 21st May 2003 in Tyrol, Austria. Since the age of 16, she began writing her own songs, and has years of musical theatre experience under her belt. The singer is also a trained make-up artist, putting her skills to use at the Tyrolean State Theatre in Innsbruck.

Austria debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1957, Bob Martin represented the country on their debut but finished in the last place scoring just 3 points. The country has gone on to finish last in the contest on 8 occasions. Austria has won the contest on two occasions, the first being in 1966 when Udo Jürgen performed “Merci, Cherie”. It was 48 years later that Austria won again when Conchita Wurst performed “Rise Like a Phoenix” scoring a total of 290 points.
