Junior Eurovision week commences tomorrow, we caught up with Levi Díaz and discussed his interest in music, when he found out he would compete in the contest and what he is most looking forward to.
With Junior Eurovision just a couple of days away, you must be getting very excited about performing in Paris?
Oh yesss, i’m so excited to go to Paris and meet my friends.
Growing up what made you start singing and decide you wanted to perform?
I like music since when I was a child, so when my parents bought me a tablet I download YouTube and then I started to learn songs and listen to some music.
Who have been your biggest musical influences?
Frank Sinatra, H.E.R, Ariana Grande, Rosalia, Lady Gaga and Maneskin
When and where were you when you found out you would be representing Spain?
Well, it’s very funny. I was having lunch in my school with my friend and the secretary woman came to the dining room and told me -”Levi, you know that you’re the representative of Spain in JESC21? I’m so happy for you! Congratulations!.”
You participated in La Voz Kids twice, how do you think this has prepared you for Junior Eurovision?
Totally, i think that my participation in La Voz Kids is gonna help me for JESC. I’ve learned a lot of things there, like enjoying the experience and having fun with my friends.
What is the story behind your song “Reir”?
Well it’s not a story, it’s a reality. I think that this song describes myself perfectly. It’s positive and with a lot of beat, like me.
You’re being joined by a number of dancers for your performance, what has it been like to learn all the choreography with them?
Wow, I love working with them and we’re totally sure that it gonna be an amazing show. We’re the revolution.
Finally, what’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
The best advice I have been given has been from the great Pastora Soler, she told me that I must be myself and I have to enjoy the experience because is unique.
