Tomorrow twelve nations will go head to head at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Warsaw, Poland. Ahead of the contest, we’ve made this handy guide to knowing who’s representing which country, and with what song.
Arina Pehtereva – “Aliens” (Belarus)
Belarus is one of two countries to have participated in every Junior Eurovision Song Contest since it began in 2003. This year, the country will be represented by twelve-year-old Arina Pehtereva from Mogilev. The singer is no stranger to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, having participated in the Belarusian national final on multiple occasions.
Arina will sing her song “Aliens” in 5th position.

Valentina – “J’imagine” (France)
France’s fourth entrant in the Eurovision Song Contest is eleven-year-old Valentina. The singer auditioned for The Voice Kids at the age of six, and has been a member of Kids United Nouvelle Géneration since 2018.
Valentina will sing “J’imagine”, a song written by Igit and Barbara Pravi. France will be finishing the show tomorrow afternoon.

Sandra Gadelia – “You Are Not Alone” (Georgia)
Georgia’s fourteenth participant at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest is ten-year-old Sandra Gadelia. The singer was selected after winning Ranina, Georgia’s Eurovision selection show. Check out our interview with Sandra here.
She will sing “You Are Not Alone” in 7th position, a song written and composed by Giga Kukhianidze and Temo Sajaia.
Susan – “Stronger With You” (Germany)
Representing Germany on their debut in the contest is thirteen-year-old Susan. The singer has participated in numerous competitions throughout her career, including The Voice Kids this year as part of Eurovision winner Lena’s team. Susan will kick off the show with her song “Stronger With You”.

Karakat Bashanova – “Forever” (Kazakhstan)
Kazakhstan’s third Junior Eurovision entry comes from Karakat Bashanova, who is from Ryskulov. Karakat began singing at just five-years-old and went on to take vocal lessons from the age of nine.
Karakat will perform her song “Forever” in 2nd position. The song is dedicated to her late father and was written by Khamit Shangaliyev, who also composed Kazakhstan’s 2019 entry. We spoke with Karakat ahead of the contest find out more here.

Chanel Monseigneur – “Chasing Sunsets” (Malta)
Nine-year-old Chanel Monseigneur will represent Malta at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The singer is no stranger to competitions, having participated in both national and international contests since 2018.
Chanel will sing “Chasing Sunsets” in 8th position, a song composed by Aleandro Spiteri Monseigneur, Peter Borg, and Joe Roscoe, with lyrics by Emil Calleja Bayliss.

Ala Tracz – “I’ll Be Standing” (Poland)
Representing Poland on home soil this year is ten-year-old Ala Tracz. Most recently, she participated in The Voice Kids in Poland and has represented her country in competitions in Bulgaria, Italy, and Malta.
Ala will sing “I’ll Be Standing” in 6th position. The song was written and composed by Andrzej Gromala (Gromee) and his wife Sara Chmiel-Gromala.

Sofia Feskova – “My New Day” (Russia)
Eleven-year-old Sofia Feskova will represent Russia at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The singer is no stranger to competitions, having competed in the Junior New Wave competition and making it to the final.
Sofia will sing “My New Day” in 9th position.

Petar Aničić – “Heartbeat” (Serbia)
Petar Aničić is the first male soloist in history to represent Serbia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The fourteen-year-old began his musical career at the age of four, where he began composing his own music.
Petar will sing “Heartbeat” in 4th position. The song was written by Leontina Vukomanović and Petar Aničić, and composed by Vladimir Graić and Nemanja Filipović.

Soleá – “Palante” (Spain)
Spain’s sixth entrant in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest is nine-year-old Soleá Fernandez Moreno from Sevilla. The singer comes from one of the most important flamenco families in the country (the Farruco), and she made her singing debut in a family show at the La Maestranza theatre when she was young.
Soleá will sing “Palante” in 10th position. The song, written to spread positivity during the times of the Covid-19 crisis, was composed by César G. Ross, Hajar Sbihi, and Bruno Valverde.

Unity – “Best Friends” (The Netherlands)
Alongside Belarus, the Netherlands is one of two countries to have participated in every Junior Eurovision Song Contest since it began in 2003. Representing the country this year is girl group Unity, consisting of members Naomi, Maud, Jayda, and Demi. The girls are all thirteen or fourteen years old and have been singing since they were young.
Unity will sing their song “Best Friends” in 3rd position.

Oleksandr Balabanov – “Vidkryvai” (Ukraine)
Oleksandr Balabanov is the first male singer to represent Ukraine in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since 2009. At the age of 4, he joined the children’s folk singing group, before moving to the Ukrainian capital at 8 years old.
Oleksandr will be singing “Vidkryvay” (Open) in 11th position, a song written by Mykhailo Klymenk and Oleksandr himself.
