We’re almost halfway through and the sixth artist to feature in our Who Is series for the Junior Eurovision 2020 season is Alicja Tracz from Poland.
Ten-year-old Alicja Tracz is from the small town of Stojeszyn Pierwszy. Alicja is no stranger to competitions, having represented Poland in competitions in Bulgaria, Italy, and Malta. In May 2019, she released her debut single together with her sister and most recently participated in The Voice Kids in Poland.
Alongside singing, Alicja enjoys rope climbing, riding her bike, and skating. She also loves dancing and traveling.
Alicja will represent host country Poland with her song “I’ll Be Standing”, which was written and composed by Andrzej Gromala (Gromee) and his wife Sara Chmiel-Gromala.
Poland participated in the first Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003. After two consecutive last-place finishes, they withdrew from the contest and did not return until 2016. From there on, Poland’s fortunes in the contest reversed resulting in Roksana Węgiel winning in 2018 with “Anyone I Want to Be”. In 2019, the contest was hosted in the Polish city of Gliwice. Viki Gabor won on home ground with “Superhero”, giving Poland a second consecutive victory.
