ČT art is set to broadcast the final of Eurovision Young Musicians 2018 live from Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
ČT art has revealed its coverage of Eurovision Young Musicians 2018 in Edinburgh. The cultural channel will be broadcasting the final live from the Scottish Capital from 20:30 CET. In the 30 minutes before the final takes place, ČT art will air a summary of the week of the competition including highlights of the semi-finals and Indi Stivín’s time at the contest.
Commentary comes from Jiří Vejvoda. Mr Vejvoda is best known for being the Vice Chairman of the Czech Radio Council, as well as a television presenter, writer and journalist. Jiří Vejvoda has previously commentated at the final of Eurovision Young Dancers 2013.
The Czech Republic made their debut in Eurovision Young Musicians at the 2002 contest in Berlin, Germany. They made their debut at the 2002 contest alongside Romania, unlike Romania, the Czech Republic qualified for the final. The Czech Republic withdrew from the contest in 2004 and 2008, before returning to compete at every contest to date since 2010.

Eurovision Young Musicians has been held bi-annually since 1982. The contest was based on the format of The BBC Young Musician of the Year in the United Kingdom. Performers in the contest must be aged under 18 years and are selected by their participating broadcaster. Each performer performs a piece of classical music of their choice accompanied by the local orchestra. The winner is decided by a jury made up of classical music experts and talents.
