Tonight the first semi final of the 62nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 takes place in Kyiv, Ukraine with 18 songs competing.
The International Exhibition Centre plays host to the first semi final of the 62nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. 18 countries tonight are taking to the stage, competing for ten places in the Grand Final of the this years contest. The 10 qualifiers are decided by 50% jury voting and 50% public vote, the juries voted in last nights jury show, while the public are voting tonight.

Alongside the eighteen countries performing tonight a further three countries are voting in this semi final. Voting in this show are Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom who are all members of the Big Five and are pre-qualified for the final. Highlights of the performances from the the three countries during last nights jury show will also be shown.
MONATIK will be performing the English version of his hit song “Kruzhyt” (Spinning) as the opening to the first semi final. The performance will see the singer showcasing his technical choreography, signature dance moves and his impressive vocals.
During the interval of the first semi final this evening, last years winner Jamala will take to the stage for the first time this week. Jamala will be performing “1944” the song that brought Ukraine victory at last years contest in the Swedish Capital, Sweden.
