The Jury Show for the First Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 took place tonight in Kyiv, Ukraine.
After a 2 hour long show tonight, the juries from all of the eighteen countries competing in the first semi-final as well as in Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom will be watching the performances tonight and ranking the performances from 1-17 or in the case of the three big five nations 1-18. Combined with televotes in tomorrow’s show, ten acts will qualify to the Grand Final on Saturday evening. Performing in the show tonight were:

Highlights
Finland || The jury performance this evening was vocally flawless, slick and well rehearsed. There’s a lot of blue lighting changing to red as the performance progresses. The instrumental section camerawork focuses on Lasse playing the piano.
Portugal || Salvador’s performance is vocally stunning. The staging compliments his simple melody. The country is hoping to qualify for the first time in seven years as it makes its 48th appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest in Ukraine.
Moldova || Suntroke Project have a fun and energetic performance that includes bridesmaid backing singers, Epic Sax Guy, and synchronised dancing. The jury performance was very strong in terms of vocals and got a large amount of applause.
Armenia || Armenia had technical issues in their performance with the audio. Despite this, Artsvik continued to perform almost perfectly. There were no issues with the staging.
Low Points
Albania || Lindita’s vocals are powerful and effective however there were a lot of off notes during the performance, in the wrong key for a portion of the performance. The backdrop for the performance is the same as the music video, so features a lot of floating islands and clocks in the sky.
Greece || Demy had to perform again due to technical difficulties with the backing singers microphones. Unfortunately the singers sounded out of tune on the chorus. Demy’s performance had a lot of camera problems, but on stage worked fine.
