The full line-up of backing singers for Austria’s 2017 Eurovision entrant Nathan Trent have been revealed.
Three backing singers will join Nathan Trent on the Eurovision stage next month. Vincent Bueno, Florian Fitz and Helena De Maertelaere will provide backing vocals for Austria’s Eurovision 2017 song “Running on Air” in the second semi-final on Thursday 11th May.
This follows Nathan’s Farewell party a few days ago, in which the ORF team gathered in the Austrian capital Vienna to wish him luck before he leaves on May 1st. ORF TV entertainment editor Edgar Böhm said:
“With Nathan Trent, we are sending a full blood musician to the Eurovision Song Contest, which not only sings excellently, but also writes his own songs. I am sure that he will be the best musician in Austria at the world’s biggest television entertainment event and wish him all the best for Kiev.”
Nathan Trent was announced as the Austrian entrant for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 on December 19th having been internally selected by the Austrian national broadcaster ORF. He is the first singer to be internally selected to represent Austria at the contest since 2014 when ORF selected Conchita Wurst and “Rise Like A Phoenix”.
He started writing his first songs when he was only eleven years old. After spending more than a decade acquiring new skills, he finally could concentrate on putting his songwriting to the next level. Years of experience with various music programs contributed to the development of producing and finding his personal style and the ability to fully express himself as an artist. Today he writes, composes, arranges and produces his own music.
In June 2016 Nathan released his debut single “Like It Is“. Shortly after the song was released Eberhard Forcher got in touch with him and ask him to be one of the contestants in the Austrian internal preliminaries.

The country has gone on to finish last in the contest on 8 occasions. Austria has won the contest on two occasions, the first being in 1966 when Udo Jürgen performed “Merci, Cherie”.
