Austria: “Running On Air” Released on Spotify

“Running On Air” the Austrian entry for the 62nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest this May in Kyiv, Ukraine has been released on Spotify.

Nathan Trent’s song “Running On Air” for Austria at this years Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, Ukraine has been released on Spotify one day ahead of its official reveal. The song is performed entirely in English and has been written and composed by Nathan Trent and Bernhard Penzias. The song is only Nathan’s second song to be released commercially following his debut song “Like It Is”. The reveal of the Austrian entry for Kyiv officially takes place on Tuesday on Ö3-“Wecker”.

Nathan Trent was announced as the Austrian entrant for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 on December 19th having been internally selected by the Austrian national broadcaster ORF.

He started writing his first songs when he was only eleven years old. After spending more than a decade acquiring new skills, he finally could concentrate on putting his songwriting to the next level. Years of experience with various music programs contributed to the development of producing and finding his personal style and the ability to fully express himself as an artist. Today he writes, composes, arranges and produces his own music.

In June 2016 Nathan released his debut single “Like It Is“. Shortly after the song was released Eberhard Forcher got in touch with him and ask him to be one of the contestants in the Austrian internal preliminaries.

The country has gone on to finish last in the contest on 8 occasions. Austria has won the contest on two occasions, the first being in 1966 when Udo Jürgen performed “Merci, Cherie”. It was 48 years later than Austria won again when Conchita Wurst performed “Rise Like a Phoenix” scoring a total of 290 points.
