Switzerland will become the sixth country to select their song for the Eurovision Song Contest tonight, as six acts compete in Zurich.
Tonight in Zurich, Switzerland will select their entrant for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine. While in Latvia the country kicks off Supernova the first heat gets underway as the country searches for who will follow in the footsteps of Justs.
Switzerland – ESC 2017 – Die Entscheidungsshow – 20:05 CET
Switzerland will join an ever growing list of countries tonight who have selected both their singer and song for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, tonight.
Hosting the selection is Sven Epiney who has commentated at the Eurovision Song Contest for SRF since 200. He will be joined in the Green Room by comedian Stefan Büsser.

A total of six artists are competing in the final tonight in Zurich, they are:
- Nadya – The Fire In The Sky
- Ginta Biku – Cet air là
- Michèle – Two Faces
- Freschta – Gold
- Shana Pearson – Exodus
- Timebelle – Apollo
The winner of ESC 2017 – Die Entscheidungsshow will be decided by 100% televote. Jury voting has not been used in a Swiss selection at any point since 2000.
Performing during the interval act will be Sebalter who represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark will be performing at the selection. He will performing his new single “Weeping Willow” for his latest album “Awakening”.
Latvia – Supernova – Heat One – 20:25 CET
Latvia becomes the second of three Baltic nations to begin their Eurovision selection, with the first heat of Supernova taking place.
A total of eleven singers will be competing in the first heat tonight for just four places in the semi final on February 19. Two singers will be selected by the public to go through to the semi final, the jury will then save a further two songs.

It also of note that Latvia announced late last year that Supernova would be the first selection to incorporate the music streaming service Spotify as a method of voting in the competition. Spotify has never been used before to assist in selecting a countries participant for the Eurovision Song Contest.
