Belarus: Postcards Filmed For National Selection

The postcards that will be shown before each of the performances in Belarus’ national final have been filmed in Minsk.

The postcards that will be shown before each of the 13 performances in Belarus’ Eurovision 2017 selection have been filmed. The theme of the videos is the Belarusian ornament, each performer has been given a different Belarusian symbol which depicts a certain word. Kattie has been given the symbol for earth, Vladislav Kurasov has wealth, while the Group NAVI have the symbol of ancestors.

Yuri Jarosik the Director of the selection stated that:

For the finalists we selected symbols in accordance with the song and its message, but also a way an artist the way, the remarkable fact is that this year we auditioned 67 participants which is exactly as many characters as there are in the Belarusian ornament.

Viewers in Belarus will be able to see these postcards during the show itself but also in the run up to the national final which is being held on January 20.

  9. Nikita Hodas – Voices in My Head
  10. Angelica Pushnova – We Should Be Together
  11. Anastasiya Sheverenko – We’ll Be Together
  12. LERMONT x JULIC – Heartbeat
  13. PROvokatsiya – My Love

For the past two years Belarus has failed to make it through to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest, this year IVAN finished 12th in the second semi final, 21 points away from qualification. Belarus’ best result in the contest came in 2007 when Dmitry Koldun finished 6th in the final with a total of 145 points.
