Sofiia Rol has been selected to represent Ukraine at the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Malta.
Sofiia has won the Ukrainian Junior Eurovision 2016 selection in Kyiv with the song โPlanet craves for loveโ. The singer beat off competition from 11 other singers from across Ukraine who performed in the three hour long national final today.
The jury members wereย as follows:
- Mariya Burmaka โ Head of the Jury โ singer, composer and songwriter, has written over 150 songs.
- Victoria Romanova โ Deputy Director General of NTU and the Head of Delegation for Ukraine at the Eurovision and Junior Eurovision Song Contests.
- Oleksandr Ksenofontov โ Music producer and lyricist, he wrote the lyrics to Ukraineโs winning Eurovision entry in 2004 โWild Dancesโ.
- Vadym Lysytsya โ Music Producer

Kiev’s gonna be hosting next year’s “regular” Eurovision, so if Ukraine wins this year’s Junior version, they could become the first country to win more than one Eurovision event within one year, which means that another Ukrainian city would have to host year’s JESC.
