Örnsköldsvik has joined the race to host Eurovision 2016 the day after Malmö dropped out of the race.
The city would host the contest at the Fjällräven Center which has previously hosted Melodifestivalen shows, the 9,800 seat arena would have to have a temporary structure added to the side of it to accommodate the press center and dressing rooms.
If the contest ends up in Örnsköldsvik it would be the most northerly Eurovision Song Contest to date. The city itself is home to just under 30,000 people and is just over 500km north of the Swedish Capital Stockholm. The number of cities bidding to host next years contest stands at six.
