Lebanese singer Mika has told RTL in an interview that he would not participate in the Eurovision Song Contest, he said that most of the songs in Eurovision are “crap”.
Mika revealed that he was approached four times by the BBC to represent the United Kingdom at the contest and has turned down the offer everytime. Mika is currently a coach on the french version of “The Voice” on TF1. He said in an interview on RTL that:
I think it’s part of the competition, to make songs terrible. Most of the songs that are in Eurovision are a disgrace. This is shit!
Mika had been named as a potential singer for Lebanon if they were to participate in the contest. Lebanon were due to participate in 2005, but withdrew due to not being able to commit to broadcasting the Israeli performance.
