Voltaj this years Romanian Eurovision participants have issued a statement regarding a false report that the band were seeking payment for doing promotional appearances.
It had been reported that Voltaj were seeking payment for doing promotional appearances ahead of this years contest in Vienna. The story stated that Voltaj had been asked to perform in Belgium, but had refused to do so because the venue would not pay them to do so. The article contained a false statement from Voltaj reading:
Really do you think that Voltaj would even consider to come to Brussels for free and perform there? We want money, then we might think about it. We have never heard that for Eurovision you should perform for free somewhere’.
The statement reads:
Oikotimes recently published an article that, sadly, couldn’t have been any further from the truth! It is extremely distorted and actually contains words we have never said.
We have never ever talked about any fee for our Eurovision related concerts, we’ve never ever even brought in discussion a remuneration of any sort for our promotional performances.
The only topic of our conversation was related to our technical request which will ensure a good live performance. It is not about asking a fee, it’s about the instruments, about the technician team behind our shows, and moreover, it’s about the quality of our show.
We truthfully respect our co-nationals living abroad, and our song “All Over Again” is dedicated to them all.
