
TG4 the Gaelic language broadcaster in Ireland has informed Eurovoix.com that it has failed to get funding from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland for participating in Junior Eurovision 2014. TG4 have told us that they will consider all other options to raise the funds that they require to take part in the contest, if they fail to do so then TG4 will be unable to take part.

Why is the Limit for participating countries 18?
I thought about that too!
In 2003, when JESC was introduced, Slovakia and Germany initially wanted to participate along with Poland and Belarus. But as the EBU only allowed 16 countries back then, the first two withdrew and made a participation for the last two countries possible.
Does anyone know why Ireland was unable to take part in Junior Eurovision?
