NERIT the new Greek broadcaster has confirmed today to ESC+Plus.com that Greece will be returning to Junior Eurovision in 2014. NERIT will reveal the selection method in the coming weeks.

Greece was one of the original countries to take part in Junior Eurovision and participated every year up until 2009, when the then national broadcaster ERT withdrew saying that the contest did not meet their ethics.

  1. Yay! For now we can expect at least 15 countries (12 from 2013 plus Hungary, Iceland and Greece) in the competition.

  2. With 8 countries confirmed and Armenia San Marino Azerbaijan and Moldova Most Likely there and Iceland,Hungary and maybe Czech Republic the jesc is no more Longer in Danger.

  3. Now that Greece is back, all they need to do is find a mini-Adele! (in other words, an extremely talented young popstar from Greece aged 10-15)

It was pre-known for me that Greece will participate in Junior Eurovision.The creation of the new broadcaster NERIT had to be done in under sone circumstances.These circumstances included the participation of Greece in the Eurovision Young Musicians and in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.That’s the whole story.If ERT wasn’t closed and NERIT wasn’t open then Greece would never participate in Junior Eurovision.
