TVR have taken the liberty of narrowing 159 songs to 12 today for their national final, Selecţia Naţională, in which the Romanian Eurovision entrant will be selected.
The 12 finalists are:

- Naomy – Daca tu iubeşti
- Bere Gratis – Despre mine şi ea
- Silvia Dumitrescu – Fiorul iubirii
- Marcel Crăciunescu – Hardjock
- Anca Florescu – Hearts collide
- Vizi Imre – Kind of girl
- Renée Santana & Mike Diamondz – Letting go
- Paula Seling & Ovi – Miracle
- Mirela Vaida Boureanu – One more time
- The dAdA – Unpredictable
- The Zuralia Orchestra – You know

Romania’s selection will be held on 1st of March in Brasov – this is the first time, in a number of years, that the selection has not taken place in Bucharest. The decision will be a 50/50 vote between tele-voting and a Jury.

oh so they kept Ovi and Paula’s horrid fan wank song, but ditched the duet song which would have been so much better, one because one of the singers had English as her first language (so not pronunciation/strong accent problems ruining the song) and two it would definitely not have been cheesy.
