NRK of Norway have today announced that those wishing to take part in the Melodi Grand Prix 2014 have until September 15th to submit their entry.
They also went on to talk about how the selection will work in 2014. They have not said whether or not they are getting rid of the semi finals unlike what was reported in May. However they did confirm that a different format is being discussed for 2014.
The woman who will select the songs that make it to the shows Vivi Stenberg said that:
“I want good songs that reflect the music genres we like to listen to in Norway. I hope to be surprised so please think up something new and exciting. We will endeavor to tell more of a story around those who are participating so that the viewers can become much better acquainted with whoever is standing on stage and the individual entries. It is going to be very exciting but at the same time scary to make changes to something that has existed for over 50 years. We approach this task with reverence but that just makes it even more fun!”
