150,000 people visited the 2026 Eurovision Village in Vienna’s Rathausplatz while nearly 75% of Austrians watched part of ORF’s Eurovision coverage.
ORF, the host broadcaster of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, has published that the Eurovision Village in Vienna’s Rathausplatz saw 150,000 visits during the week of the contest. In addition, more than 97,000 people attended the nine ticketed shows in the Wiener Stadthalle, while the EuroClub in PraterDOME saw 16,000 attendees, and the Eurofan House at the Wien Museum saw 23,400 visitors.
Beyond the ground visits in Vienna, ORF also reported record ratings for its Eurovision Song Contest coverage. The grand final of this year’s contest saw a total of 4.567 million viewers, leading to a share of 61% of all Austrian viewers. ORF Eurovision related programing started on April 24 ahead of the contest and ended with recaps the day after the final on May 17. In total of reached 5.604 million viewers, meaning at least 74% of the Austrian viewers aged 12 and over saw part of ORF Eurovision coverage.
During this time, online ORF also saw around 100 million views over all its social media channels for Eurovision-related content, of which 64 million were via Instagram and 36 million via TikTok. The most viewed posts were the “Stage Secrets” reel, which saw 7.7 million views, and the “Best of DARA” post on TikTok that saw 8.6 million views. Beyond social media, the ORF Eurovision website (songcontest.orf.at) saw over 13 million page impressions for Eurovision-related content. Online via ORF video-stream, exclusive supporting online content in the form of ORF’s live streams and videos-on-demand content was streamed for over 66 million minutes during the period from April 24 to May 17. This resulted in 7 million gross views from 1.8 million unique viewers for ORF online video content.
Bulgaria won the 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. The song that Dara performed in Vienna was called “Bangaranga”. It was written and composed by Anne Judith Wik, Cristian Tarcea, Darina Yotova (Dara), Dimitris Kontopoulos.
The result brings Bulgaria its first victory in the Eurovision Song Contest. Dara is also the first artist since Salvador Sobral in 2017 to win both the public and jury votes. Prior to this, the country’s best result was second place, achieved by Kristian Kostov in 2017.
