VTV has announced that the jury winner of Điểm hẹn tài năng will represent Vietnam at the ABU TV Song Festival.
Điểm hẹn tài năng (Talent Rendezvous) will select the Vietnamese representative for the ABU TV Song Festival. The show which started earlier this month, has seen three live shows with the final set to be held on June 29. The show sees the best young singers in Vietnam competing for the votes of the jury and voters at home.
Four singers have made it through to the final and are competing for victory: Nguyen Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Hoang Minh Khoi, Nguyen Hoang Bao Ngoc and Vo Hoai Anh.
The act that receives the highest points from the jury in the final will be given the opportunity to represent Vietnam at the ABU TV Song Festival. 10 jury members will vote, each having a 10% say in the result. The singer who receives the most votes from the public will win the overall show.
Vietnam is set to return to the ABU TV Song Festival, having not participated in the 2024 event. Vietnam, through its broadcaster VT,V had appeared in every edition of the event up to 2023, and hosted the 2nd edition of the show in 2013 in Hanoi.
The ABU TV Song Festival 2025 will be held on September 12 at the ASA Arena in Ulaanbaatar. The ABU TV Song Festival was held for the first time in 2012 and is a non-competitive showcase from across the Asia-Pacific region. Each participating broadcaster chooses acts to showcase their nation, with a mix of genres and languages to feature in tonight’s show.
