Pacific Break 2025 Song Submissions Open

Song submissions are now open for Pacific Break 2025, the biggest song contest in the Pacific.

Artists from across the Pacific are now able to submit their songs to compete in the 9th edition of Pacific Break. The search is underway for the best original artist from the Pacific and Timor Leste, with the winner receiving an all-expenses paid trip to perform at WOMADelaide. A launch concert was held in Apia, Samoa today featuring past winners of the competition alongside two of the biggest artists in Samoa. Performing for the audience were past winners Chris Rohoimae (2024, Solomon Islands), Ju Ben (2023, Fiji) and Danielle (2022, Papua New Guinea), while Mr Cowboy and Tofaga Meke joined the celebration.

The winner of Pacific Break will once again be determined by a jury; the jurors are:

• Joji Malani –  Australian-based Fijian artist and label head
• Ngaiire – Papua New Guinea born Australian singer
• Annette Tripodi – WOMADelaide Associate Director
• Hau Lātūkefu – ABC Radio Australia presenter
• Sose Fuamoli – ABC Radio Australia presenter

Song submissions will close on August 25 at 23:59 AEST. The winner of Pacific Break 2025 will be announced on October 16 during ABC Radio Australia’s morning program Nesia Daily.

The competition is open to original and unsigned artists from across the Pacific. The contest is open to singers from:

Pacific Break

Pacific Break is the largest music competition in the Pacific region, it is open to unsigned artists living in the Pacific and Timor-Leste. The contest is organised by ABC Pacific and has been held since 2008, it returned in 2022. The past winners are:
