1.465 million Swedish viewers watched the live broadcast of Semi-Final One of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
SVT1 had 1,465,000 viewers tune in to its broadcast of Semi-Final One of Eurovision 2025, according to TV viewership ratings service MMS, making it the most watched program in Sweden on May 13.
This figure has increased significantly since the first Semi-Final last year, where 1,081,000 viewers tuned in to watch Sweden perform as one of the already qualified countries. It is also a higher number of viewers compared to the second Semi-Final last year, where 1,358,000 Swedish viewers watched the live broadcast.
KAJ qualified from Tuesday night’s Semi-Final, marking Sweden’s fourteenth consecutive qualification in the contest. They will perform their song, “Bara Bada Bastu”, in the Grand Final on Saturday.

KAJ are a music group from Vörå, Finland, consisting of Kevin Holmström (vocals), Axel Åhman (vocals and accordion), and Jakob Norrgård (vocals). Their first name initials form the band’s name. Learn more about the group below:

Sweden debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1958 and has gone on to be one of the contest’s most successful countries. The country has won the contest seven times, the most recent being in 2024. Sweden’s first victory came in 1974 when ABBA won the contest in Brighton with “Waterloo”. Since missing out on the final in 2010, Sweden has gone on to finish 3rd twice and has won the contest twice. Only in 2013 did the country place outside of the top 10 in the final.
