Further details are emerging about France and the staging of Louane’s performance for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest.

After revealing that Frederik Rydman will be the Creative Director of the French performance at Eurovision, new details emerged about Louane and her staging.

Her outfit will be made by a famous fashion house: Rabanne, as Louane will wear a custom, new version of a piece made by Julien Dossena.

France will be represented this year by Louane and her song “Maman”. As a Big Five member, France is automatically qualified for the Grand Final of May 17. Before the final, France will also perform during the second semi-final of May 15 as the country is due to vote during that semi-final.

France was one of seven countries to participate in the first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956. Since then they have participated in every contest aside from 1974 and 1982. Their withdrawal in 1974 was caused by the death of President Georges Pompidou, while 1982’s withdrawal was a result of TF1 declining to enter the contest. France has won the contest on five occasions, the most recent being in 1977 when Marie Myriam performed “L’oiseau et l’enfant”. France’s best result of the 21st century came in 2021 when Barbara Pravi finished second in Rotterdam.
