The acts competing in the 35th edition of Sámi Grand Prix have been revealed with a month to go until the competition.
The twelve acts competing in Sámi Grand Prix 2025 have been revealed by contest organisers. The twelve acts are competing across the song and joik category on April 12.
Competing in the Song Contest are:
- Sara Ajnnak – Biäggålmáj (Sweden)
- AILO – “Vijmak” (Norway)
- Elin & The Woods feat. Jörgen Stenberg – “Máilbmi jorrá” (Norway/Sweden)
- Hildá Länsman – “Duodjemagiija” (Finland)
- Peira Eira – “Dálkkiid čađa” (Norway)
- Jovnna Levi – “Jovnna fra Tana” (Norway)
Joik Contest:
- Mathis A. Oskal – “Mongolia gehččonat” (Norway)
- Johan Ivvár Gaup – “Linn Henriette” (Norway)
- Heli Aikio – “Kyelialmai” (Finland)
- OSCAAL – “Sávrrimus” (Norway)
- Lejla Renander – “Plaave Guehperh” (Norway)
- Johan Anders Bær – “Torill” (Norway)

Maxida Märak and Ole Máhtte Gaup will host the competition. Maxida is a Swedish-Sámi joik and hip-hop singer, who has been active as a performer since 2014. She will be joined by Ole Máhtte Gaup who will be hosting the competition for a second edition.
The competition will be broadcast in Finland (Yle TV2 and Yle Areena), Norway (NRK1 and NRK TV) and Sweden (SVT 2 & SVT Play).
What is Sámi Grand Prix?
Sámi Grand Prix has been held annually since 1990 as part of the Sámi Easter Festival in Kautokeino in Norway.
The winner of the Sámi Grand Prix 2024 will be awarded 20,000 NOK, while second place will receive 10,000 NOK. The winners in each category will be offered a scholarship worth 50,000 NOK and the opportunity to hold a concert at the Sami Easter Festival.
The region of Sápmi covers northern Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia, and has a population of between 80-100,000 Sámi. To date the most successful nation in the contest is Norway.
