Over 1.3 million viewers watched the final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 on France 2 last night.
An average audience of 1.33 million viewers watched on France 2 as the final of the 22nd Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place in Madrid, Spain. Viewer interest in the competition has continued to grow year on year in France, with the number of viewers up by 120,000 viewers compared to the 2023 contest that France hosted in Nice.
The audience share for the contest on France 2 was 9.8%. This is a fall of 0.6 percentage points compared to the 2023 final. This year’s contest is the first since 2004 that France has competed in where the contest has been held on a Saturday evening. A peak audience of 2.6 million viewers was recorded during the show.
France’s past viewing audiences are:
- 2024 – 1.33 million – 9.8% share
- 2023 – 1.21 million – 10.4% share
- 2022 – 1.11 million – 8.9% share (peak of 1.8 million)
- 2021 – 1.638 million – share unknown
- 2020 – 1.2 million viewers – 7.3% share
- 2019 – 979,000 viewers – 7.6% share
- 2018 – 1.16 million viewers – 8.2% share
Titouan represented France in Madrid with “Comme ci comme ça“. He finished 4th with a total of 177 points. France was 3rd with the jury vote and 4th with the online vote.

France first participated in the 2004 contest in Lillehammer. Thomas Pontier placed 6th with his song “Si on voulait bien”. Afterwards, they withdrew from the contest and did not return until 2018. Since then, they have won three times; in 2020 with “J’imagine” by Valentina and in 2022 with “Oh Maman!” by Lissandro and most recently in 2023 with Zoé Clauzure.
