🇸🇪 Sweden: Hägersten A Cappella to Perform Live from Stockholm

Hägersten A Cappella has revealed they will be performing live for Let the Peoples Sing 2024 from Stockholm.

Hägersten A Cappella will be performing live from Uppenbarelsekyrkan in Stockholm in the final of Let the Peoples Sing 2024 on October 6. The choir who are competing in the Adult Category will be directed by Kerstin Börjeson.

The choir was selected by Sveriges Radio to represent Sweden at Let the Peoples Sing 2024, with a pan-European jury selecting them as finalists. For the live broadcast of their performance the Uppenbarelsekyrkan will be filled by an invited audience.

Sveriges Radio P2 will be broadcasting the competition live for viewers on October 2. Sweden is one of the most successful countries in the contest having won the competition six times in 1966, 1967, 1969, 1982, 1986 and 2011.

Let the Peoples Sing 2024

The 47th edition will be held on October 6, 2024. For the first time, the finalists will be competing live from their own countries. Each choir will perform for 8 to 10 minutes, with the performances assessed by an eight-member jury voting from the BBC in London.

Competing in the Adult Category are:

• KYN –  Finland
• Juventus –  Latvia
• Encore –  Estonia
• Hägersten A Cappella –  Sweden

Competing in the Children / Youth Category

• Copenhagen Girls Choir –  Denmark
• Chorus Iucundus –  Finland
• incantanti –  Switzerland
• BNR Children’s Choir –  Bulgaria

The contest is primarily intended as a radio competition, however, host broadcasters have traditionally broadcast a televised version of the contest.

Norway is the most successful nation in the contest having won eight times, 1 more time than Hungary. Barbaros from Denmark won the contest the last time it was held in Barcelona, Spain in 2019.
