120,000 viewers followed the final of Eurovision Young Musicians 2024 from Bodø, Norway on WDR.
The final of Eurovision Young Musicians 2024 was the eighth most watched show on WDR yesterday, with an average audience of 120,000 viewers watching the competition. The broadcast which was aired on delay from 21:48 CET, had an audience share of 3.1%.
Viewer interest is up considerably compared to the 2022 contest when WDR aired the final on delay the following morning. Overall viewing figures increased by over 550% from an audience of 22,000 in 2022.
Germany finished 3rd in Eurovision Young Musicians 2024 represented by Fabian Egger who played the Flute. This is the second edition in a row that Germany has placed within the top three of the participants.
WDR has organised Germany’s participation in Eurovision Young Musicians since 2008 and has traditionally internally selected its participant for the competition. They also hosted the contest in Cologne in both 2014 and 2016.
Eurovision Young Musicians 2024
Eurovision Young Musicians 2024 was held in the city of Bodø. Bodø which is a European Capital of Culture and played host to a Eurovision event for the first time, while Young Musicians returned to Norway for the first time since 2000.

- Belgium: Mahault Ska (Piano) – Piano Concerto in G minor, 1st movement
- Czechia: Adam Znamirovský (Piano) – Piano Concerto No. 2, 3rd movement
- France: Pierre-Emmanuel Hurpeau (Piano) – Piano Concerto in G, 3rd movement
- Germany: Fabian Egger (Flute) – Tango Fantasia for flute and orchestra – 3rd
- Norway: Sebastian Egebakken Svenøy (Piano) – Piano Concerto No. 5, 3rd movement
- Poland: Jeremi Tabęcki (Clarinet) – Concert Fantasia on motives from Rigoletto
- Serbia: Bogdan Dugalić (Piano) – Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini
- Sweden: Hugo Svedberg (Cello) – Cello Concerto No. 1 in D major, 1st movement – 2nd
- Switzerland: Valerian Alfaré (Euphonium) – Excerpt from Euphonium Concert
Belgium: Mahault Ska (Piano) – Piano Concerto in G minor, 1st movement
Czechia: Adam Znamirovský (Piano) – Piano Concerto No. 2, 3rd movement
The competition for musicians between the ages of 12 and 21 and has been held since 1982, as the first spin-off contest of the Eurovision Song Contest. The event celebrated its twentieth edition in 2022 when Montpellier hosted the competition.
Over the twenty editions of the competition, a total of forty-two countries have competed across the history of the competition. Norway has competed in nineteen out of the twenty contests, tied with Austria. Austria is the most successful country having won six editions and competed in sixteen finals.
