TVR has announced the final artist competing in Selecţia Naţională 2023, as well as the running order for the final.
Andrei Duţu has been confirmed as the final participant in the Romanian selection for Eurovision 2023. The singer has been allocated the song “Statues” which was submitted to the selection without a singer.
The running order for Selecţia Naţională 2023 was also drawn today in Bucharest. An urn with 36 numbers was used to determine the order, each act drew a number at random, with the lowest number performing first and the highest number performing last. The order is:

- Andrada Popa – “No Time for Me” (Drew 3)
- Ocean Drive – “Take You Home” (Drew 4)
- AMIA – “Puppet” (Drew 8)
- Andrei Duţu – “Statues” (Drew 9)
- Theodor Andrei – “D.G.T. (Off and on)” (Drew 10)
- Steven Roho x Gabriella x Formaţia Albatros – “Lele” (Drew 16)
- Aledaida – “Bla Bla Bla” (Drew 20)
- Adriana Moraru – “Faralaes” (Drew 26)
- Maryliss – “Hai Vino” (Come on) (Drew 29)
- JaxMan (Erin Dăneţ) – “Bad&cool” (Drew 32)
- Andreea D Folclor Orchestra – “Periniţa mea” (My little girl) (Drew 35)
Selecţia Naţională will take place on the February 11 in the TVR studios. The result will be decided through a 100% public vote, both online and by televote.
WRS represented Romania with “Llámame” finishing in 18th place with a total of 65 points, he received 10 points from the televote in Moldova and Spain. Romania qualified for the Grand Final for the first time since the 2017 contest in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Romania first participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994, the country had tried to participate in 1993 but failed to get through the pre-qualifying round. At the 1994 contest Dan Bittman finished 21st in the final scoring 14 points, Romania didn’t make it through to another final until 1998. Romania’s best results in the contest are two third-place finishes. In 2005 Luminita Anghel & Sistem finished 3rd scoring 158 points, while Paula Seling & Ovi finished 3rd in Oslo with the song “Playing with Fire”. Romania missed the 2016 contest due to TVR being removed from the EBU.
