Pacific Break Contest Returns For 2022

ABC Australia has launched Pacific Break 2022, marking the return of the contest for artists from across the Pacific.

The Pacific Break contest returns after a three-year absence due to COVID-19 looking for the best original and unsigned artists from across the Pacific. The contest is referred to as the largest music competition for artists in the Pacific.

The competition which started in 2008 is open to artists from across the Pacific with the winner invited to perform at the WOMADelaide Festival, and have their song played on ABC Radio Australia.

Song submissions are open until November 27, and the winner of the competition will be announced by ABC Radio Australia on its Pacific Beat program on December 8. Full rules for the competition can be found here.

  • 2019 – Papua New Guinea – Sprigga Mek
