The fourth artist to feature in our Who Is series for Junior Eurovision 2022 is Gaia Gambuzza from Malta.
Thirteen-year-old Gaia Gambuzza is no stranger to the stage, having competed at Sanremo Junior earlier this year, as well as reaching the finals of IBand in 2021. Alongside singing, Gaia loves Performing Arts and playing the piano.
Gaia was selected to represent Malta at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest after winning the Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 against fifteen other acts.
Gaia will sing “Diamonds in the Skies” at this year’s contest.

Junior Eurovision 2022
Following Malena’s victory in Paris, the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex in Yerevan will host Junior Eurovision 2022 on December 11. The same venue also hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2011, which was the first Eurovision event in history to be hosted in Armenia. The venue can host between 6,000 and 8,000 people for large concerts. The venue is only the second to have hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest twice, after Minsk Arena in Belarus.

Malta debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 and has gone on to win the contest twice. In 2013 on their return to the competition in Kyiv, Gaia Cauchi won the competition with “The Start”. She was the first winner of a Eurovision event for Malta. In 2015, Destiny Chukunyere took victory in Sofia, Bulgaria with the song “Not My Soul”. Malta finished last at the 2005 contest in Belgium and the 2019 edition in Poland.
