AMPTV, the Armenian national broadcaster, has revealed more details about the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022.
During a press conference in Yerevan today in which Nare was revealed as the Armenian representative, AMPTV also revealed further details about Junior Eurovision 2022.
The Opening Ceremony will take place on December 5 at Republic Square in central Yerevan. During the Opening Ceremony, a draw will take place to decide which countries will open and close the show and which position Armenia will perform in. Also, all of the participants will turn on the Christmas tree lights together. This event usually takes place on December 25 but the Municipality of Yerevan decided to make an exception for Junior Eurovision 2022.
🇦🇲 Junior Eurovision 2022: Past Winners Invited to 20th Contest
Maléna, the winner of Junior Eurovision 2021, will accompany all 16 representatives during their stay in Armenia. She will also perform a new song during the live show on December 11.
It was also confirmed that three presenters will host the contest in Yerevan, the presenters will be revealed in November.
Tickets for the show are expected to go on sale in November. Tickets will cost between 5,000 and 30,000 drams (13 Euro to 76 Euro).
Junior Eurovision 2022
Following Malena’s victory in Paris, the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex in Yerevan will host Junior Eurovision 2022 on December 11. The same venue also hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2011, which was the first Eurovision event in history to be hosted in Armenia. The venue can host between 6,000 and 8,000 people for large concerts. The venue is only the second to have hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest twice, after Minsk Arena in Belarus.
