Tonight Ireland will select their representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Yerevan, Armenia.
The final of Junior Eurovision Éire 2022 takes place this evening with three talented singers competing to represent Ireland this December. For the first time ever the Irish public will have a say in who represents Ireland at the contest, with online voting underway here.
The three singers will be performing twice this evening. The singers in the running to represent Ireland in Yerevan are:
- Sophie Lennon
- Niamh Noade
- Clare Keeley
Voting will be open until all three finalists have performed twice in next week’s final, after which point it will close and the winner will be revealed.
Brian Kennedy is the guest judge for the Final of Junior Eurovision Éire 2022 tonight. Brian represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 in Athens, Greece with “Every Song is a Cry For Love”. He joins the permanent jurors:
- Niamh Ní Chróinín – Presenter of TG4 youth programming Cúla4, manager of Irish-language youth radio station Raidió Rí-Rá
- Chris Greene – RTÉ 2fm presenter
Louise Cantillon and Darragh Ó Caoimh are hosting the final. This is the first edition of Junior Eurovision Éire to have two main presenters.
After the winner is chosen, the Irish entry for Yerevan will be specially composed for the winner.
