High5 have released their entry for Junior Songfestival 2022, “Because I Know”.
The fourth and final song that will be competing to represent the Netherlands at Junior Eurovision 2022 has been released. High5, this year’s boy band in this year’s competition, will compete with “Because I Know”. The song was written and composed by Julian Vahle and Maxine van Breukelen.
The four acts and songs competing in Junior Songfestival 2022 are:
- Infinity (Eva, Kayleigh, Larissa and Lemay) – “Never Ever”
- MixedUp (Joep, Lois, Noor and Sam) – “It Doesn’t Matter”
- Luna – “La festa” (The party)
- High5 (Danny, Kaey, Luuk, Thijs and Thomas) – “Because I Know”
The live final of Junior Songfestival 2022 will take place on September 24 in RTM Stage in Rotterdam. The winner will represent the Netherlands in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Yerevan on December 11.
At the 2021 contest, the Netherlands was represented by Ayana with the song “Mata Sugu Aō Ne”. She finished last and scored 43 points overall, 1 point behind Ireland. This is the worst result for the Netherlands at the contest.

The Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest
The Netherlands debuted at the first edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 and is the only country to have taken part in every edition to date. To date the country has only won the competition once. Their only victory came in 2009 when Ralf Mackenbach performed “Click Clack” scoring a total of 121 points, this was just 5 points more than runners-up Armenia and Russia. The Netherlands narrowly lost the contest in 2011 when Rachel performed “Teenager”, she lost by 5 points. The Netherlands’ worst result came in 2021 when Ayana finished in 19th place out of 19 competing countries.
