Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS has revealed to Songfestival Update that they will not release the live-on-tape footage of the Dutch entry this year.
A spokesperson explained:
“We have issued a request for the EBU not to publish the live-on-tape footage online. We want the viewers and the public to remember the live performance [instead].”
From June 14 until June 23, the live-on-tape performances for Eurovision 2022 will be released on the official Eurovision Youtube channel. These performances were recorded before the contest and would have been used if a delegation was unable to travel to Turin due to Covid-19 restrictions or if someone in the delegation contracted Covid-19 while in Turin and was not able to leave quarantine before the live shows.
It has not yet been specified which broadcasters will not be releasing their live-on-tape footage apart from The Netherlands.
Ukraine, who went on to win the contest, were exempt from recording a live-on-tape due to the ongoing war in the country.
S10 represented the Netherlands at Eurovision 2022 with “De diepte”, the first Dutch-language song in the contest since 2010. She finished 11th in the Grand Final scoring 171 points including 12 points from the Italian jury.

The Netherlands debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1956 and has gone on to compete in all bar four contests. To date the Netherlands has won the contest on five occasions; 1957, 1959, 1969, 1975 and most recently 2019. Prior to Duncan Laurence’s victory in Tel Aviv, the Netherlands had been waiting 44 years for their next victory. Duncan Laurence won the contest in Israel with the song “Arcade”.
