Update: NRK has now confirmed that TIX is not part of Subwoolfer and that the video was a publicity stunt.

TIX who represented Norway at Eurovision 2021 has been revealed by NRK this evening as DJ Astronaut on stage for Subwoolfer’s performance.

The first member of Subwoolfer has been unmasked as TIX, the singer who represented Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with “Fallen Angel”. NRK reports the singer is returning to the Eurovision stage this year as the DJ Astronaut on stage for Subwoolfer’s performance.

There has been speculation since Subwoolfer’s participation in Melodi Grand Prix as to who is behind the masks of the intergalactic duo. As reported in the Who Is articles:

Subwoolfer are a Norwegian duo who specialise in the pop, electropop, and EDM genres. Their exact identities are kept a secret, however, they have published a fictional story behind the origins of how the pair came about, which is that the duo was formed 4.5 billion years ago on the moon. There have been many rumours as to the identities of the musicians, including Ylvis and Ben Adams.

Subwoolfer are performing 16th for Norway in Semi-Final One this evening.

Norway debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960 and have won the contest three times – in 1985, 1995 and 2009. The country has the dubious record of finishing last the most times, eleven in total, and have received nul points four times. Norway last won the contest in 2009 when Alexander Rybak broke all records with his song “Fairytale”. He scored 387 points in the final, receiving 16 sets of 12 points and scoring points from every country.
