The Armenian public broadcaster AMPTV has confirmed that they are yet to select the artist that will represent Armenia at Eurovision 2022.
Following reports in the Armenian media that Rosa Lin had been selected to represent her country at Eurovision 2022, AMPTV has confirmed that no decision has yet been made. Head of Public Relations and Digital Communication at the Public TV, Anna Ohanyan told ArmenPress that:
We haven’t yet reached the final stage. The name of the participant is not decided yet. We will officially announce his/her name when there is a final decision.
Ms. Ohanyan confirmed that AMPTV is still in discussions regarding the artist that will represent Armenia in Turin. An announcement regarding the Armenian representative will be made in early March.
Armenia is returning to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2022 having withdrawn from the contest in 2021. The broadcaster has opted to return to an internal selection process which was used in 2019.

Armenia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006 and has participated every year since, excluding 2012 and 2021. Armenia’s best results came in 2008 and 2014 when they finished 4th in the final. They have failed to qualify for the final on three occasions. The first time was in 2011 when Emmy finished in 12th with “Boom Boom”, she was 1 point away from qualifying for the final. In 2019, Srbuk finished 16th in her semi-final with “Walking Out”, bringing Armenia their worst result to date in the contest.
