The running orders for the semi-finals of Portugal’s Eurovision selection show have been revealed.
Portuguese broadcaster RTP has revealed the running orders for the two semi-finals of Festival da Canção 2022. Ten acts will participate in each semi-final, which will take place on March 5th and 7th.
The semi-final running orders are as follows:
Semi-final 1 (March 5th)
- Os Quatro e Meia – “Amanhã” (Tomorrow)
- TheMisterDriver – “Calisun”
- Diana Castro – “Ginger Ale”
- FF – “Como É Bom Esperar Alguém” (How good it is to wait for someone)
- Norton – “Hope”
- Aurea – “Why?”
- Kumpania Algazarra – “A Minha Praia” (My beach)
- Maro – “saudade, saudade” (Longing, longing)
- Valas & Os Astronautas – “Odisseia” (Odyssey)
- Fado Bicha – “Povo pequenino” (Tiny people)
Semi-final 2 (March 7th)
- Os Azeitonas – “Solta a Voz e Canta” (Raise your voice and sing)
- Cubita – “Uma Mensagem Tua” (A message from you)
- Inês Homem de Melo – “Fome de Viagem” (Wanderlust)
- Syro – “Ainda nos Temos” (We still have)
- Pepperoni Passion – “Códgio 30” (Code 30)
- Milhanas – “Corpo de Mulher” (Body of a woman)
- O Vampiro Submarino – “Ao Lado de Mim” (By my side)
- Jonas – “Ponas Soltas” (Loose ends)
- Blacci – “Mar No Fim” (Sea at the end)
- Pongo & Tristany – “DÉGRÁ.DÊ” (DEGRADED)
Five songs will qualify from each semi-final. The Grand Final will be held on March 12 and the winner will be chosen by a combination of regional jury voting (50%) and public voting (50%).
The semi-finals will be held in RTP studios in Lisbon. The first semi-final will be hosted by Sónia Araújo and Jorge Gabriel. The second semi-final, which will take place on the 65th anniversary of RTP’s first regular broadcasts, will be hosted by Tânia Ribas de Oliveira and José Carlos Malato. The grand final will be hosted by Filomena Cautela and Vasco Palmeirim. Inês Lopes Gonçalves will host the Green Room for all three shows.

Portugal debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1964 represented by Antonio Calvario, the country finished last scoring nul points. Prior to 2016, the best result of Portugal was 6th place which came in 1996 when Lucia Moniz performed in Oslo. She scored 92 points, receiving the 12 points from both Norway and Cyprus. Since their debut, Portugal have missed a total of five contests. In 2017, Portugal produced a spectacular win when Salvador Sobral took home the crystal microphone with his song “Amar Pelos Dois.” The 2018 contest was held in Lisbon, Portugal for the first time.
