Eurovision 2021: Entries Hit Spotify Charts Across The World

Days after the grand final, the songs featured in the 2021 Eurovision song contest are beginning to make an impact on the Spotify Charts across the globe.

Italy:  Måneskin- Zitti e buoni

Since winning the 71st Sanremo Music Festival, Måneskin’s winning song “Zitti e buoni” has been climbing the local charts. Just one day after the song was released on the 3rd of March, the song debuted at number 14 and by the following week, the song had reached number 2. “Zitti e buoni” has already sold over140,000 copies sold all across Italy, awarding the song a 2× Platinum Disc.

The song is now number nine on the globe Spotify Charts with 3.9 Million streams, a record for any Italian song.

The song also made it to number 12 in the UK, the first time a Eurovision entry has debuted in the Top 50 of the UK Top 200 Spotify Charts. Last year “Think About Things” by Dadi Freyr debuted at 51, while in 2019 “Arcade” by Duncan Laurence only debuted at 102.

  • Switzerland – 2 (behind Tout l’univers by Gjon’s Tears)

  • Estonia – 1 (the entire top five is made up of 2021 Eurovision entries)
  • Spain – 9
  • Israel – 5
  • Greece – 1
  • Hungary – 21
  • Iceland – 1 (the entire top 10 is made of 2021 Eurovision entries)
  • Ireland – 16
  • Italy -2
  • Lithuania – 1 ( 7 of the group’s other singles make it into the top 50)
  • Latvia – 1 (the entire top five is made up of 2021 Eurovision entries)
  • Sweden – 1
  • Norway – 1
  • the Netherlands -1
  • Portugal -3
  • Poland – 4
  • Ukraine – 1
  • Russia – 2

The Global Top 200

“Voilà” by Barbara Pravi has made it to number 44 on the global Spotify Charts, with  1.6 Million streams.

“Arcade” by Duncan Laurence is still in the global top 50 and currently is at 37 with 1.7 Million streams, two years after the song’s release and Eurovision victory in 2019.

“Dark Side” by Blind Channel is at 62 with 1.2 Million streams.

“SHUM” by Go_A is at number 69 with 1.1 Million streams. This makes make SHUM the first-ever Ukrainian language single to reach the top 200.

Beyond those  the following songs made the top 200:

  • 73: Tout l’univers by Gjon’s Tears – 1.1 Million streams.
  • 87: 10 Years by Daði Freyr – 1 Million streams.
  • 110: El Diablo by Elena Tsagrinou – 0.9 Million streams.
  • 125: Je me casse by Destiny – 0.85 Million streams.
  • 132: Discoteque by THE ROOP – 0.84 Million streams.
  • 153: Voices by Tusse – 0.78 Million streams.
  • 156: Mata Hari by Efendi – 0.77 Million streams.

Many entries were already getting the viral charts after the semi-final.

Even before this year’s contest took place, many entries had already made a considerable chart impact in their own countries since being selected. You can read all about this in our previous March chart update. Many artists such as The Roop from Lithuania even broke local records with entries for a number of streams and views. In addition to streaming, many songs have also top local digital sales charts at iTunes and Amazon music. In the United Kingdom, James Newman’s entry “Embers” reached number one in both Amazon and iTunes sales chart.
