Just under half of all the 39 Postcard locations that are set to feature in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 have been revealed.

Seventeen of the locations across the Netherlands that will feature in the postcards for the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 have been revealed. The postcards feature a variety of locations including Schipol Airport, Amsterdam, and Curaçao a country in the Caribbean that forms part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

18 more locations are still yet to be revealed and it is still mostly unknown which counties will be assigned to which location.

This year due to travel restrictions most acts will be unable to film their postcards live as was the case for 2020, which saw some acts already get their shooting done before the ultimate cancellation of the show.  So for this year’s postcard concept, the idea of artists are visually presented in a tiny house in a unique place in the Netherlands was selected. The postcards for 2021 are being produced by IDTV for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Around 400 unique locations from all across The Netherlands were submitted as possible locations for the postcards. Most of the submissions came from the South Holland and Drenthe provinces.

The latest digital techniques mean that the acts do not need to be in the location physically. Each small home is decorated according to the story and the personality of the artist. This lets the views get to know each singer or group before they take to the stage.

Eurovision 2021

The Eurovision Song Contest 2021 will take place on May 18, 20 and 22 in Rotterdam. A total of 39 countries will take part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Eurovision 2020 was due to be held in Rotterdam after Duncan Laurence gave the Netherlands their first victory since 1975 with the song “Arcade”. After the cancelation of the 2020 contest, it was decided that Rotterdam would host the 2021 contest instead.
