North Macedonia’s entry for the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest has been released.
“Here I Stand” is North Macedonia’s entry for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, and will be performed by Vasil, who also wrote and composed the song. The arrangement and production were completed by Borce Kuzmanovski and Davor Jordanovski.
The recording of the music video took place at the Fames Project Studio in Skopje. Vasil also revealed that backing vocals from the Chicago Children’s Choir were added to the backing track.

The singer was first chosen to represent North Macedonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with the song “You” until the contest was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On January 20 is was confirmed that Vasil would be representing the country in Rotterdam this year.
Who is Vasil?
Vasil started his musical journey at age 7, performing at some of North Macedonia’s most popular children’s festivals. Soon thereafter, he moved with his family to the United States, where he continued his career as a soloist at the Chicago Children’s Choir. He continued his musical training in Toronto and Milan.
Vasil returned to North Macedonia in 2018, and launched his own pop career there with three successful singles: “Gjerdan” (Necklace), “Patuvam” (Travelling) and “Mojata Ulica” (My street). He was also a backing singer for Tamara Todevska in the 2019 contest in Tel Aviv.

North Macedonia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1998, however, two years earlier they attempted to participate but was knocked out in the pre-qualifying round. In 2016 they were represented by Kaliopi for a second time with the song “Dona”, she missed out on the final finishing in 11th in her semi-final. North Macedonia’s best result to date is a 7th place finish in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest represented by Tamara Todevska and the song “Proud”.
